WHY MERINO WOOL

INSULATES WHEN WET

Wool has the remarkable ability to absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without ever feeling wet or sticky. In the event that it does become wet, wool outperforms cotton and polyester materials by providing superior insulation.

ANTI-MICROBIAL

Merino Wool fibers possess a natural ability to repel bacteria in moisture or sweat, effectively wicking it away. This means you can wear our products without worrying about foot fungus or unpleasant odors.

FIRE RESISTANT

Merino Wool offers excellent insulation against high temperatures and has a natural resistance to catching fire. In the rare event of ignition, it self-extinguishes without melting and adhering to the skin, unlike synthetic fabrics.

MOISTURE WICKING

Merino Wool regulates moisture levels on your skin by absorbing any perspiration or sweat from your body, allowing it to evaporate from the fabric into the surrounding atmosphere.

UV PROTECTION

Leave your sunburn worries behind as you ascend to sunlit peaks. Our lightweight layers provide a UPF rating of 25, while the midweight and expedition options offer an even higher UPF rating of 50+

RENEWABLE

Merino Wool boasts a minimal environmental footprint and seamlessly reintegrates into the natural world. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and by afternoon, they're happily grazing their way towards renewing next season's wool clip

Fit isn't perfect for big legs, but I'd buy them again

Switching from polyester boxers, been using Adidas athletic boxer briefs for years. I spend a lot of time in the gym under a bar and have fairly big legs/butt. Boxers riding up is always an issue for me. These do fairly well, they're not quite as good as the Adidas at staying down, but definitely better than a lot of tried. They also are a little smaller in the trunk than I'd like, so I gotta check myself before I bend over so I've not got plumbers crack.

Overall though, I'm willing to give up a little on the fit to get away from polyester. I love that they don't stink when you're hot and sweaty, and have bought more.

Boxer Briefs 170, almost but not quite

I purchased several of the Merino 170 boxer briefs on a sale, figuring I would roll the dice because I had never heard of this company. After receiving them, I have found that the quality is noticeably lower than established brands, like Smart Wool, and the fit was not quite right for me. After a day of wearing them, the material has loosened up and is not hugging my legs anymore, so they are slightly more akin to regular boxers, which are prone to riding up your leg. These seem to have been designed for people who have flat butts because there is not enough material in the seat and causes the waistband in the back to sit lower than is comfortable. The perk is that after wearing them some time they have stretched out and flat-butt-cut is less of a problem. I can appreciate how one flaw fixes another but I'm not going to reward it.
I would five star recommend these for a person who has a flat butt and wants a soft Merino product for a low price.
I am going to give it three stars because it does not fit me well and I don't trust that these will not bunch up and give me major wedgies on a long hike.

First off, it’s important to understand it is wool, meaning it has a different fit than other materials. It does however feel like there is a bit too much material causing it to feel so lose when sweating from hiking.Aside from that it is quite comfortable and does very well with not holding odor.

Very comfy sock with plenty of cushion. These socks were a little thicker than a wool hiking sock but lighter than the big expedition weight socks. That in-between sock that is perfect inside an insulated shoe or boot for early to mid winter activities outdoors or extra comfort indoors. I wear wool socks year round because they are anti microbial and keep odors away. The socks are warm and very soft since they're merino wool. This has been a warm and comfortable sock that compares to the fancier name brands in my drawer. Great value.
