I didn't think it would be warm because it is thin but preformed better than I though. The free wool socks is a big plus.

I despise putting on layers. I abhor taking off layers. This med weight base layer is waaaaay comfy and will probably enable me to reduce the number of layers preventing my skin from mingling with the ambient atmosphere.
